What will I do day-to-day?

The programme is primarily observation-based. You’ll typically shadow local doctors and nurses in hospitals/clinics, with your level of involvement depending on your background and experience.Senior students do assist the doctors and nurses depending on their skill level and tasks allocated to them.

What will I learn from a low-resource setting?

You’ll gain insight into healthcare delivery in resource-limited environments and may observe conditions such as malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS, while building adaptability and cross-cultural communication skills.

What departments might I observe?

Depending on availability and your interests, you may observe areas like General Medicine, Pediatrics, Maternity/Obstetrics, Internal Medicine, Emergency, Nursing, and Dentistry (among others).

You’ll be supported through Med Trips’ process, and the programme is structured around supervised shadowing in local facilities.
