What will I do day-to-day?

You’ll shadow local doctors and nurses, join ward rounds and case discussions, and observe patient consultations, diagnosis and treatment planning in a structured hospital environment.

Which departments might I rotate through?

Common departments include general medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, and emergency care (subject to placement availability).

Can I perform medical procedures?

No — due to local regulations and ethical standards, this placement is observation-based, focused on learning through shadowing and insight into patient care and local systems.

What support is provided?

You’ll receive an orientation after arrival covering practical topics like safety, local culture and getting around, and you’ll have ongoing support from the local coordinator/team.

What is accommodation like, and are meals included?

Accommodation is in a safe shared house in Ho Chi Minh City (shared rooms), and interns are provided three cooked meals per day featuring local Vietnamese food.
